It's spiderman!

We were so excited to see Spiderman on the screen this morning!

Spiderman needed the children's help as the Hulk had turned bad, wanting to smash Snow whites home. All the children wanted to help him and listened carefully to find out the rest of the instructions. After sharing thoughts with their friends, they knew that they needed to use the other Superhero's to cross the water. There was a letter and inside were two pictures which prompted discussion once again. The children could identify where the superhero's were (Point A) and the treasure chest (Point B). Some of our friends peered out of the window and saw something stuck to the tree and they were so EXCITED to get outside to help rescue the figures. 

The children quickly put on their coats and wrapped up warm and then ran outside to see what was going on...

Some children decided to put their waterproofs on ready to approach the task whereas others explored their environment to make sense of the situation. The children could initiate conversations by sharing their ideas within the group and tested them. The children watched one child place a piece of paper down the river in the garden and knew that it went "soggy" and "sunk". This created new ideas like trying the bucket which was too heavy and then they found a small dish which floated ; therefore, they went inside to collect the other dishes to complete the task. 

The children collaborated to get water and problem solved when they came across challenges. They persevered with the task and managed to get all five fingers to the chest. They opened the chest to find a letter from the Hulk, which they could read by sounding out each letter. By looking at the picture the children could visualise where about in the garden the Hulk had left the other keys. The children then attempted two keys and on the third, managed to free Snow white and Spiderman. The children cheered as they were released, showing satisfaction in meeting the goal.
