As the boys settled into play in character as the Power Rangers it was the perfect opportunity to channel this into a team work task. I asked the Power Rangers where their base was and they had not chosen one. I used this to create a challenge - let's make one!
They gathered together all of the material and pegs that they needed and decided that the tree was going to become the den. They worked together to create their perfect tree den but it was not an easy task and they kept stumbling on problems (the wind, material that was not long enough etc). The problem solving, creativity and engagement was amazing to observe.
