The Tree

Our tree is popular with all of the children this term. Watching the children taking risks and persevering at their own challenges has been fantastic. Each day the children get higher up the branch until they feel confident and comfortable to jump from the high branch (and believe me...it is high!) The children enjoy setting themselves challenges and goals and are often so excited to have made it to the top branch that they can't wait to show peers and adults their achievements...

Self Portraits

So we began our second week of term by creating our first ever rubric. We used the rubric to give us a list of success criteria for painting our self portraits. We all looked at our faces in mirrors and made a list of features on our face. Mrs Callaghan wrote down our features on to the rubric so that it would help us when we making our self portraits...

When we painted our self portraits we looked into the mirrors to help us add the details that were personal to us (eye colour and hair style). We mixed the paints and made some amazing portraits.
